Cherie Lucas joined Kern Energy in 2022 and serves as Vice President of Human Resources and Employee Development. As a member of the Executive Team, she leads the company’s people strategy, aligning human resources initiatives with Kern’s business goals to drive talent development, recruitment, and employee engagement. Since joining Kern, Lucas has championed cross-departmental collaboration and cultivated a culture where innovation and operational excellence thrive.

Lucas brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic leadership, operational excellence, and organizational development.  Her expertise spans regulatory compliance and policy development—capabilities that have strengthened Kern’s workforce and positioned the company for long-term success

Lucas holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), and has completed leadership and soft skills programs through Rise Up for You and Maxwell Leadership. Her credentials reflect a powerful blend of academic rigor and hands-on expertise in people development and organizational strategy.
